The Big 9

Despite the fact that Scot’s born John Muir was one of the earliest advocates of the National Park idea and is revered worldwide, Scotland has been a late adopter of the concept. Although many conservationists would like to see more, we now have two established National Parks – Loch Lomond and The Trossachs, and Cairngorms. Both have attracted international attention for the part that communities have played in shaping their early development. Now 10 years old, Cairngorm has launched a major consultation on 9 Big Issues.  The Park is a national asset so this is open to everyone.
